Secret Life of Pets 2: Off the Leash!
Universal Studios Attraction
From 2016 - 2019, Themespace partnered with Universal creative to develop the new ride and attraction "The Secret Life of Pets 2, Off the Leash" which opened in May 2019 in Universal Studios, Hollywood. My role in the project was as show set designer and 3D designer.
In the 1st half of the project, I was involved with ideating the preliminary spaces of the queue line and ride sets. I helped develop the spatial layouts and plans for the queue line experience and ride.
My role in the 2nd half of the project was as a 3D modeler to translate all schematic drawings into a wholistic 3D master model in SketchUp that incorporated the facility architecture, ride track mechanics, set designs, props, and visual effects. The model was used in rendering, executive pitches, and onsite verification during the construction phase. When there were holes in the schematics, my job was to fill in details with creative liberty and cross check the schematics with those updates to the original designers to update all drawing errors.
